I’ve recently read a number of articles that discussed the act of “pressing,” with regards to persevering that is. I thought rather intensely about the term, and what it actually means, so I decided to do some research. When I looked up the definition, I was met with phrases like- exerting continuous physical force, and applying pressure.” I said to myself upon reviewing this, “How true.”
What happens when you’re in a situation that requires you to exert continuous force? What happens when you have to dig deep in order to reach your intended goal, and you feel as though you have nothing left inside of you to give? What do you do?
REFUEL. We must not only find ways to re-energize, so we can keep going, but we must also keep the end goal in mind. It’s called a “press” because that’s exactly what it is. It’s not easy or quick, and it could care less about our time table. It requires much of us, and then some. However, if we focus on the vision, it will help us better manage the process in between start to fruition. In the interim, it’s tough though. It’s grueling, trying and wearisome, BUT necessary. We learn so much during these times. God uses them to develop us and remove the dross. It’s also a period of preparation for what’s to come. Therefore, while it may not be pretty, it is necessary to successfully fulfill our purpose and plan. Trust His timing and the challenges that arise- to get you exactly where you need to go. Keep climbing…the view from up the side of the mountain is incredibly beautiful!
